Plain black hat. 92% polyester 8% spandex, and I think it must be the spandex that give it a bit of a shine, rather than a flat, black hat and almost a rain coat type feel. Material seems OK. Very thin, so good in warmer areas. Find the harder material in the forehead area, makes it seem a bit tall, on the front of my head .
